Thumbs up Air China booking halt lifted

Managed to book LHR - PEK F return for 75K VS miles today. The whole process took me 5 minutes. Very satisfied.

Great result ^ Did you do it through the UK office and did you get your first choice of dates?

Thanks

Came across something while booking a VX award. Appears one has to make a booking 72 hours prior to departure. is this for all partner awards?

Yes called the UK office and got my first choice of dates. Checked Air China availability before the call, and seems VS finally sorted the problem of their system and now they can see the same CA availability as other *A carriers.

I am after the same award as you. Could you tell us what taxes and carrier surcharges VS levies on this F ticket to PEK?

It's Wednesday night, I called VS trying to book a one way award on VX on this Friday but i was told that I can't because of the 72hr partner booking rule. Can I get around this if it's a roundtrip award? Or am I sh*t out of luck to use VS points to book this trip?

I doubt you can get away with a RT. This is quite an annoying feature.

Thanks zimne! A reasonable price indeed for a r/t in F.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the YQ is like when redeeming for a F on ANA?

Would it be safe to assume that if the VS website doesn't list a Virgin Australia route then redemptions are not possible. Looking at BNE-NAN and POM-BNE specifically, and domestic business in general.

Not NH F, but in I class HKG-TYO-NYC-TYO-HKG, the fees were around 1100 HKD, very similar to a revenue ticket
