newbie question: spending miles for partner airline, oneway or RT?

Just confused, the miles for air new zealand, singapore airline, malasyia airline, the quote is oneway or roundtrip? Thanks!

Is it easy to get the reward seat in partner airline by using VS miles?
Where to check the award availablity online?

Thanks advance.

Generally the miles quoted are for round trip, but you have to read the T&C carefully..

There are lots of threads about difficulties redeeming / checking availability - one being just below this one (at the time of typing) -

Suffice to say - it is rarely easy, and many have found it impossible.

You can't check partner availabilty on line. You have to phone VS with your travel date (yes that date of outbound and return not 'anydays in june') who then contact the airline tho then phone virgin back and they phone you back and you then repeat until you get something.

Earlier today I toyed with the idea of checking for availability on a flight with US but I couldn't be bothered because it's just too much of a faff.
