Can you "hold" a flight by rebooking every 24 hours

Im flying LAX to NYC on a redeye sunday night dec 6. I bought a flight last night at 150$ but i want to see if delta matches because i have $80 delta dollars. If the VX flight price stays, could i cancel and rebook because im in the 24 hours after purchase? Or if i cancel the flight, will i be locked out abs potentially lose the sweet deal I had gotten?

The Internet is your friend. Here is the cancellation policy:

If you made a reservation and are cancelling within 24 hours from the original time of booking, you will be entitled to receive the entire payment back to your original form of payment.

If DL publishes a lower fare by 23 hours or thereabouts, grab the DL ticket, apply your $80 credit and cancel the current ticket for a full refund.

Don't push the timing here. You must have cancelled within 24 hours and that means allowing for online and telephone glitches.

You'd be taking the risk that the same fare would be available when you rebook. It likely would not be.
