Upgrade Potential at BOS / SFO?

Getting back to the original question...I still maintain that T-24 upgrades to F are available 75% of the time on that route. Flying SFO->BOS tomorrow AM and was able to purchase FOUR upgrades from MCS->F (two of us flying have status). But yes, they were all gone at T-12 (only 1 remained after I grabbed 4 of them). From my experience, it's the exception, not the norm, to not have the option to upgrade at T-24.
I completely agree with @MikeBOS on the gogo vs JetBlue wifi. Their premium wifi is INSANELY fast and the free version is still better. But it doesn't sound like free is part of the long term equation for JetBlue...and VX is upgrading their system...so who knows. In the meantime, maintaining a Gogo monthly account seems like a necessity if you fly VX or the other Gogo enabled airlines. Crazy that we're at a point that wifi speed/cost -- not just availability -- is a determining factor of who to fly!
