This weekend we changed our minds about doing a road trip to Palm Springs over Christmas and decided to just fly instead. While researching flts. on United, I turned to Flyertalk and was delighted to stumble across this thread.
SFO-PSP, roundtrip fare, both non-stop
United quote: $418/Coach/per
(I'd probably drive from here for $418x2, it's about an 8hr. drive) or consider burning miles, UA saver avail.)
Virgin (ticketed): $358/First/per

(It's odd that I never received an email about this, unless it's in a junk folder somewhere)

Alright, I booked my last two flying legs for this promo (SEA-LAX on the 1st, LAX-ORL on the 2nd). I'm impressed...between my JFK-LAX rebook and Merry50, I spent less on all three legs than I had initially spent DCA-SFO-LAX going out.
