wow. It was just uploaded too. Lucky passengers. I wonder when this happened. I saw a smaller plane flying with them. I wonder if promotional pictures or videos released.

The spacecraft was attached to the mothership. Its between the outer fuselages.

That video is someone who copied the original for who knows what reason - perhaps they are trying to get a cut of revenue from the ads.

The detachable portion is the middle fuselage, part of the mothership during that flight.

they'll likely need some type of FAA clearance to do this

it was obvious with the 3rd plane that they were using this for a photo op, here is the article:

Yeah, I was about to post under the GooTube video but I see you made the point first.

I've heard the FAA expressly forbids commercial airlines from ever flying in formation and that pilots have gotten in trouble when they've done this.

But I gotta admin, that is an extremely cool video. I wish I could have been on that plane!
