Upcoming flights listed twice in itinerary

I currently have a flight booked LAX-ORD, Aug 16th (Flight 232), with return flight Aug 20th (Flight 233). This morning I received a travel update, stating my flight time has changed. Only, both flights listed are exactly the same, with same flight times. No change!

A quick look at my itinerary on the website, however, lists each flight twice, under the same ticket number.

Thu, 8/16/2012 Los Angeles, CA (LAX) to Chicago, IL (ORD) 11:30 AM

Mon, 8/20/2012 Chicago, IL (ORD) to Los Angeles, CA (LAX) 03:50 PM

Is this likely just a glitch that will work itself out, or do I need to call? Why would I receive this notification if nothing has changed?

Also, I'm planning on trying to upgrade to at least MCS, if not FC. Has the online seat change process improved in recent months? I know there was an issue with trying to 'double upgrade' online, but haven't seen an update lately. Thanks!

It was a system issue, they say, caused by an upcoming schedule change they put in over the weekend. It caused every reservation from August 8 forward to receive an email. They say nothing to worry about.

Apparently one has to decide which upgrade to go for as checking-in is now required. Thus, one checking in 12 hours before flight for MCS up grade or at 6 hours time point for FC upgrade. If you upgrade to MCS, an upgrade to FC can be inquired about at the airport only.

Good Luck!
