I signed because it is the right thing to do...although I no longer fly US, I support and advocate for those who still do by necessity (I don't think many do by choice any more).
For what it's worth, FFOCUS is behind this effort and it has our full support.
This sends a message to ALL airline managements that US crossed a line, and that if they care about keeping customers, they won't even touch their toes to that line......

I did sign--not for myself, but for those who still do fly.
While I am very disappointed in the slap in the face to elites with the removal of both mileage minimums and bonus miles, I am more disappointed in the decline in service and the subpar product offering.
I also think that this petition will fall on deaf ears, but perhaps I will be surprised.

While this came 3 days late and a dollar short for me (I status matched to CO the other day, and I will not be changing my mind), I signed it.......in solidarity for all of my compatriots who are still flying US, and who would benefit from positive results from the petition.
I think what Randy is doing on our behalf -- and on behalf of ALL frequent flyers -- is really commendable, and I would like to publicly thank him here. (I wish we had a hand-clap smilie!)

I signed it as well in hopes that it would help others but I will be moving on for my 12 weeks of flying in the last two quarters of this year. UA will be my primary with CO as a back up. I have two vouchers left on US that I will use but only when the cost minus the voucher loses money for US. I can think of two transcons i will probably take at .05 per mile......stick it to'em where it hurts.

I had not signed but just did - I guess I did not think it would do any good. I may make CP again this year but it will be close. I've given AA priorty for my business and will easily make EXP with them.
Signed as Canadian Gold DM from YEG where we only get CRJ April-October service so the bs about U/G doesn't cut it. The only thing that made it palatable was the Gold bonus miles. I'm definitely draining the account and my last flights were with AS.
The way airlines are matching eachothers fees and "enhancements" these days I think it is important for every frequent flyer to sign the petition to make it known to all airlines that eliminating preferred bonus miles is not an acceptable cost saving measure!!
I used to like this airline before the merger of America West. This airline has gone downhill. My boyfriend flew this airline on a business flight, allowing people to take his seat a few times because of a few disabled passengers who needed aisle seats, and no one else would offer up their seats. Since he wasn't near his jacket that he placed in the overhead cabin bins, he left it behind at LAS while trying to catch his connecting flight. He remembered right after he left the plane. The flight crew refused him entry to retrieve his jacket. They told him to get it at lost and found instead.
Well, he tried lost and found via LAS and the US Airways customer service department, which led him in circles. Part of the problem was he is hard to fit, so the jacket was tailored. He can't just walk in and buy a jacket in a department store. He has to be customed fitted, so the jacket was a huge loss. Not only that, but the US customer service reps were terrible to deal with. I wrote out a letter for him, and all that they could do was give him a $200 voucher which was virtually impossible to use, given that everything flew through PHX or LAS. (He didn't want the voucher; he just wanted his JACKET back.) All this trouble because he had the humanity to give up his seat to disabled passengers! This is how US treats their passengers.
We finally were able to use the voucher almost a week before it expired. We were going to fly a non-stop UA to Chicago, but the voucher wouldn't allow us to use the codeshare flight. Extremely frustrating. I cashed in my award ticket on that flight since it was so difficult to find something that actually worked on the voucher, that I figured an award ticket was a cinch.
Now that I have only a few points left, I'm leaving this airline. No more US craziness for me. I'll stick with an airline that treats you well. Considering that most of you have many miles with US, they should be treating you with more respect than what you're getting.
