US Airways Million Miler status!!
It's new, and apparently went on their website before any email announcement:
Million mile flyers
Fly one million miles with US, and we'll upgrade you to Silver Preferred for as long as you remain an active Dividend Miles member.**
no idea if that means "a million miles starting today" or "a million miles since you started" but I'm gonna ask!

Yeah i am hoping they count partner miles (if credited to US) and go into the past because I'm probably somewhere between 600-750k by now!
Emailed the CP desk for those two answers. Will post it when I get it!

Congrats to dcpatti on finding this before any announcement from US. Many of us here are hoping it is retroactive; I must be well over 1/2 way there in real BIS miles.
If it starts today then it's hard to imagine that US will be around long enough for me to make 1 million miles.
I do recall someone here mentioning that US can tell you how many miles to date you've accumulated so at it's a least possible they make this retroactive.
Lifetime GOLD would be much more of an incentive. *A Gold for life would make retirement (many years from now) nicer. Maybe for 2 million miles! Not complaining though.

Pity its not like AA where RDM gives points towards million mile; then again, probably half this forum could qualify for having earning 1 million miles on US without actually have flown them :-).

So will call to find out if it is total miles or BIS miles?

My guess is this is lifetime EQMs, not just BIS, but this is only rampant speculation.

AA gives lifetime Gold (equivalent to US Silver) for 1MM RDM's.
UA currently gives lifetime 1P for 1MM BIS (on UA metal only) miles.
CO currently gives lifetime Silver for 1MM EQM's (including all partner EQM's), plus spouse or SO gets your same status for that year.
I'm can't remember the details of DL's 1MM program (paging me4yankees), but I know it's better.
But at least it's something.

Not sure about your question but i'd imagine since the flights posted at at least 500 miles then the minimums count.
Why though would you be shocked by this?? At least this way US is rewarding those that are truly loyal to US, not its partners, etc. Not like AA where buying a whole bunch of Healthy Choice meals (isnt that the promo they had a few years back?) and no flying at all could get you 1MM and lifetime gold..
