Based upon your past experiences as well as current results, out of the ten hotel groups, Accor (AClub), Best Western Rewards, Choice Privileges, Hilton HHonors, Hyatt Gold Passport, InterContinental Hotels Group (Priority Club), Marriott Rewards, Radisson Gold Points Plus, Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) and Wyndham Rewards, is there any hotol group that uses the actual date when you submitted your conversion as the Activity Date? Is there any hotel group that will convert your points with a few days of your request, uses the date of when it is submitted to US Airways as the Activity Date and/or submit to US Airways within a week? Please advise.
Yes, I should have converted my hotel points during the first week September before going out of the country where I had no Internet access for most of the trip...just returned this month.
You should be okay. Do it sooner than later. You can always fight later with letters. My letters last year got my last hit put in place.

They'll fix it for you but it's asinine that we still have to deal with this - the promotion isn't in its first year or even second year.
That's the exact arguments that I replied with. I will wait to see what they say.
I don't have time to get my wife to call and then pass the phone to me. I will continue to pursue this by email.
Aside from the difficulty I had, which not everyone experiences, the exchange procedure is rather arcane.
First make sure that points.com is displaying correct mileage totals for each of the two programs. Click "get & move" and then at 1 select the radio button for "I want to move from."
At 2 select Continental Airlines OnePass in the drop-down box. Enter a number (4 is the minimum that will work in this exchange) in the "how many?" box. Then click on box 3, "show my options."
Be patient. Sometimes the computer seems to hang up at this point, but it's temporary.
It is possible that points.com will want to show you offers from other members to trade, or will say that there are no trades for that program. Ignore it either way, and scroll the main window down to the bottom of the page. (The main window, not the sub-window in which a long list of potential trades might also be scrollable.)
At the bottom of the page, there will be a sub-window labeled "exchange between your programs. Scroll that sub-window down (if necessary - it depends on how many programs you have registered) to US Airways. (Don't scroll too far. After the programs you have registered, it lists other programs.) Select "exchange" in the US Airways row.
I think the most important thing to watch for when you're doing the CO to US transfer is to MAKE SURE that both your CO and US accounts have finished updating and no errors occurred. I think my US was having problems getting updated when I did my transfer, so I it took 2 weeks and a bunch of live chats to finally get it pushed through. However, when I did my gf's account, I made sure that both accounts had finished updating successfully, and the transfer hit my DM account within minutes.
whats the difference ??? i understand that one both the recipient and the sharer get hits and gifting just the recipient gets ah it but essentially there the same this ??? weird to me ??

How about sharing 1000 with me and seeing the diff.
Just kidding. In Sharing, your account will be deducted miles shared. Gifting, you buy from US airways and give to other person. SO no effect on your mileage level.

In order to credit you with a hit, their computer script needs to be able to see an activity on your account. When you give someone miles, you pay on your credit card and nothing is reflected in DM to be picked up in the fortnightly sweeps. When you share miles, there is a line
10/20/2010 10/20/10 SHARE MILES -1,000
that their system can pick up and automatically register it as a hit.
Looks like Rachel Ray came through for my husband's account.
10/13/2010 10/21/10 MAGAZINES FOR MILES REDEMPTION -400
I think the selection on www.magsformiles.com is more up to date than the one the US site links to, it still lets you choose which airline including US you want to pay for your magazine with.
Next week hopefully we should have our hits wrapped up, just did PC conversion which should post Tuesday, 2 SPG dines which should post Monday unless they are fortnightly rather than weekly, and the FTD bear sent to my niece which should post Wednesday.
I haven't used my Buy Miles yet so if DM Wireless doesn't post by early Nov, I have that 32nd hit covered. I'd love to get the last 4 but I would either have to spend $50-$100 buying hotel points for each one, rent a car at high Aussie prices or gamble on Network Solutions which no one has gotten yet.
So is it too early to start planning for this year's 250% Shopping Bonus yet?
crap I just wasted $30 on gifting just so I could my wife could earn 25% or 250 miles, and this was before she registered so she also won't get the hit.

Network should be very fine, they even include in they e-mail confirmations that you get xxx miles.
However wireless Did you get the wipes? Go online and check if your order is cancelled. Did you use US CC and adress?
Spending 50$ on hotel points is a good investment when it also typically returns 1k miles (retails 14$ at current promo).

No hit here yet, either. I was able to use the Groupon and have a printed copy of my order page that shows both my DM# and the US offer promo. The wine is actually pretty good, so at $3.28 a bottle the only way I'll be upset if I don't get the hit is if I am at 35 and need just one more.
Now Vinesse...I have the email that says "If there is less than two weeks between your first shipment date and the club's next scheduled shipment, your second shipment will be delayed until the following scheduled shipment." I received my first shipment October 6, called them the 14th, they told me they had already shipped on the 11th, and when I refused the shipment I saved the UPS tracking info that shows it wasn't shipped until the 18th. Vinesse outright lies. And the wine stinks!
