Double Miles to Europe - MCWinter1/2 troubles
My post has everything to do with this link --
http://www.usairways.com/awa/content...astercard.aspx
I booked my trip last week for Seattle to Gatwick in January, and of course entered my Dividend Miles while booking (and I used my Juniper MC USAir Card). I'm a little nervous however, that I won't receive "double miles", because I didn't enter one of these MCWinter codes.
To be honest, I don't care much about the discount (it's ~$36), but I really want these miles!
I called the airline and they sent me over to the Internet team - no one had an answer to this question whether or not I would get the miles. They were sure that I didn't get the discount (obviously)... and said I probably needed to enter the code because that way it "flags my ticket" in their system.
I've read and reread the terms here and I think that the McWinter applies specifically to getting the 10% (in my case since I am going to Gatwick)...
To test this, I entered the booking information for my flight, using the code and not using the code - both ways it says "Estimated Frequent Flyer miles earned for this itinerary, per member - 12692"
Also in the terms it says...
"Discount and double miles offer is valid on all Coach Class fares. Subject to terms and conditions of fare selected for discount. Subject to availability and may change at any time. Dividend Miles number must be entered at the time of booking to receive mileage credit. "
Do you think I am going to get the double miles? Who should I contact before travel to make my case?
Here's my flight info, if it helps....
Thanks!
Carl

I'll bet that they won't post, but a call to the DMSC post-trip would get them posted manually. Tell them you took the trip with them because of the promo, and you'd like the miles. If it doesn't work, hang up and try again.

Update: I e-mailed DM and this was their response.... It's pretty vague and refers me to a different promotion number.
How do I handle this with them?

Has anyone else had problems with the double miles from this promotion not posting? I took two trips to LGW using the MCWinter codes, one flown in early December and one in mid January. The base and preferred miles have posted for both trips, but I've yet to see the MCWinter double miles.

funny timing here -- I am currently in the UK. My double mileage posted from last week's flight - even though I had not entered the codes when booked (see my original post above). Perhaps that can help someone out there. It shows up as "PQM DOUBLE MILES" and posted the same day. Hope they don't take them back!
