Upgrades on US: 2 questions
2 questions on upgrades on US:
* Do I have better upgrade chances as a AA PLT or US Silver on US flights?
* What are the odds that an upgrade is taken away from me on AA if I switch my AA number (which gave me upgrade based on PLT status) to US just before boarding?

If it's an AA-issued ticket, then it doesn't matter, you can upgrade only at check-in time either way. I'm not sure how the standby upgrade list gets ordered, but those rarely clear anyway. In this case,I'd opt for using the AA number just so you earn miles towards your next set of AA 500-upgrade certs.
