US751 circling above Brussels for 6 hours

US Airways flight 751 from Brussels to Philadelpha had been circling above Brussels for a long time. Enough time to in theory dump fuel in the ocean and land immediately..I'll guess we'll hear more information on that later but i guess you cant dump fuel until emergency is declared?

Interesting. (Although the title is a bit misleading, they were only circling for about 2.5 hours; the total flight time, including flying out over the Atlantic and back, was 6 hours.)

The airplane is a B757-200 which does not have fuel dumping capability.

Twitter seems to think it was a rudder problem.

According to the article I read the plane never made it to the atlantic. Seems to be correct if I look to flight tracker

Ah, track I saw earlier had them a few miles further west off the Irish coast before turning around.
