US Granted me free silver (or other) status? (2014)
I haven't flied star alliance with paid tkt for ages since I wanna burn my miles !
I logged in my account , I found my preferred status is silver ! I only had status for BA and AF , but US
Anyone got same experience ?

I just saw the same on my account. Would be nice it they had granted Platinum Status 
. Must be the first integration glitch. Or maybe it has to do with my Platinum Status on American?

narossa do you have any status with American Airlines or other airlines? I have Platinum with American Airlines currently but was assigned Silver on US Airways. I was expecting Gold or Platinum

Thanks,OP! Just checked and I show as Silver. My wife who was gold and lost her status shows as regular member. Go figure.

Do anyone dare to call US Airways Dividend Customer Service and ask what the logic is? Must be a lottery. I am curious if anyone got Platinum or Chairman Status

If there's a glitch, I'm betting it will be fixed on Monday.
That said, it has been known that US randomly gives people status every year based on some sort of algorithm. There's always someone who says they were comped CP/Plat/Gold/Silver, while others who had status get dropped down, sometimes to nothing.

What does it say when you go to the main account page and click "reprint your card"?
edit to add: welp, just logged in and tried mine. This lowly silver now shows as gold on the main page and on the reprinted card.

US Granted me free silver status?
I flew 60000 miles and 60 segments last year. Checked the website today and noticed my status was changed from Gold Preferred yesterday to Platinum Preferred. There was a 12 month period from July 2012 to June 2013 where I put in nearly 100000 miles. I wonder if the algorithm the previous poster mentioned is attempting to credit me for that.

Hubby, mate and I are all showing as silver. Neither hubby nor I have ever flown on US Airways (or AA) and as far as I know, my mate won't have flown with US (but will have flown AA). All very strange.

met plat end of last year, just checked and am showing CP! did put a decent amount of spend on the cc and have flown ~10k miles so far this year, maybe they extended the earnings window?
