Smile GoEnvoy/business and other TA upgrades

Hi all,

I am about to book some unexpected TATL travel...since not budgeted, cannot afford the usual business class.

US used to have information on their site about upgrading less than 24 hours for $500 or some amount, based on availability. It is no longer there. I searched on here for some time, but did not get a conclusive answer.
http://flights.usairways.com/en-US/t...oupgrades.html

Do they still have this for international?

Thanks,

Bob

Yes they do, and it's here

I think the price is dependent on route and not a set fee, so maybe someone else knows what it is for whatever route you're flying.

Thanks BoeingBoy, yes, probably PHL or CLT to FRA. I didnt see any mention of Envoy on that page, so was a little worried. Anyone who has used this service recently, I'd love to hear.

According to this page it's $400-$700 per flight one way. PHL-FRA I'd guess would be $500 while CLT-FRA might be $600 but probably $500.

The GoEnvoy upgrades are offered at OLCI if available. Otherwise, check in at the airport and ask.

I upgraded my mom last year by phone. She was traveling from CLT-FRA. Cost was $500.

Yes it is available for Envoy 24hrs in advance. I think it's $500 for rows 2-5 and $600 for row 1.

The amount charged is based on the flight duration. MAD-PHL last week was $500. FCO is more - $600 I think. They also no longer have a premium charge for row 1 on the old-style A330-300s.

Nope - you get miles for the ticketed coach fare class.

If you do the GOupgrade at the airport, avoid the kiosks and use an agent as they get $5 for each one sold.

Did one of these this year CLT-DUB for $500; pretty good money spent even if it was the old-style US business class after coming off two long connecting flights.

Here's how it credited to UA MP:
US 724 V Class CLT to DUB
Availability was pretty good and was offered it both ways CLT-DUB-CLT as I believe it will go down to last seat availability. The same program is offered for domestic flights as 'GoFirst', though it pops up a lot rarely due to UDU on US.

Smile GoEnvoy and other TA upgrades

Hi all,
Haven't flown US for almost 2 years, last time we flew, we paid $500 to upgrade to Envoy from Economy. Does anyone know if this offer is still going on please?
Many thanks!
Jake
