SAV-CLT-STT flight 833 in J seat ?

We've been flying Delta to STT but I just noticed that US is now flying a 767-200er. Those seats are much better (according to seatexpert) than what Delta offers. We are flying J. Has anyone been on this flight lately.
Thanks

The seats are "quasi-lie flat" (in that they go to a roughly 170 degree angle in full recline) in a 2-2-2 config generally used to smaller European destinations out of PHL and CLT:

I can't compare to DL to STT as I've only taken US there, but you should be pretty comfortable given how short the flight is. They are not the newest business class suites found on the A330 fleet but very nice for a short flight.

Flying DUB to PHL next month. According to airportia.com, the 11:35am flight from DUB-PHL is always a 767-200, and the evening flight is an A330-200. However, I'll be travelling on the morning flight and my reservation from US Airways claims that I'll be on the A330-200. Even when I picked my seats the map showed a selection up to row 36, which, according to Seat Guru, isn't available on 767s. A 767 only shows row availability up to 30, but I had originally been able to select row 33H as my seat on this flight- ended up changing it to 11B...which, on a 767 on Seat Guru is not a good seat...but if it's an A330-200 then it should be ok. Anyone have any info on which aircraft it actually is? :P

EDIT: just typed in the flight no. and date on Seat Guru and it appears that from July 31st onwards, the aircraft will be an A330-200 instead of a 767. Happy days if that's the case!

Question PHL-BCN early November

Seat map for these flights shows 16 seats.

Seats 3C and E are missing.

What is going on?

Anybody know or guess?

Thanks!

Pilot rest seats. If they're not needed, they'll free up closer to departure, but I believe they are needed on a flight of that distance.

For those tracking, another 762 has been retired: N253AY, which made its last revenue flight on PHL-CLT the day before the 737-400s were retired:

The US Winter 2015 Europe schedule doesn't show any 762s that I can see past January 6th (DUB-PHL). There are 2 planes scheduled domestically (CLT-MCO-CLT-PHL and PHL-CLT, times overlap though so must be two planes) through the end of the schedule, but I'm assuming that will change soon enough.

The PHL-CLT flight on 1/6/15 could be the last flight of the 762, and would be a good way to send it off.

Not sure what your looking at but I see Phl-FCO operating with a 762 in January until the 20 some odd day suspension in Feb.

Ah, I missed that! PHL-FCO doesn't operate daily so checking a random day didn't show it for me; I assumed it already hit a seasonal suspension.

Looks like this is correct, but it is weird - An A333 goes out from PHL on 1/5 but then a 767 returns the next morning 1/6 from FCO.

Not sure how that works so I am assuming that is an error in the schedule.

Has the new AA meals service done anything to make these old bucket of bolts more pleasant to fly? I cant believe they're still flying these.

The remaining 767-200's will be gone soon. They were all delivered between 1988 and 1993. Not horribly old (compared to the MD-80's AA flies), but certainly there are better options out there now.

AA just retired their 767-200 fleet this year, and they had many more cycles on them because they were dedicated to the transcon routes for many of their final years. AA has many 767-300's dating back to 1988 with the newest delivered in 2003. There is a retirement plan for the older ones.

Delta and UA retired their 767-200 fleets, but they fly many 767-300's (along with AA), which were delivered in the late 80's through the 90's.

Wish I'd seen this thread before flying on the 762 last night from PHL-DUB.

Had selected 12A/B, as there was no possibility of sitting in J (unless we paid $650 per person at OLCI). Our flight from SFO was over an hour late, so we ended up being the last two pax to board and discovered how poor the legroom is in Row 12. I'm 6'1", so it bordered on painful for the 6hrs into DUB.

The middle block of 3 in Row 12 looked as if it had a few more inches of legroom, though I didn't get a chance to try them before we deplaned in DUB.

Currently in 12A/B on our return flight in a few days. Limited seats to change to in Y, so not sure if we should just stick with it or see about an upgrade to J (30K miles + $350)

Flew one of these to BCN last month; sad!

Looking forward to "better options" you mention. When should I see them?
Thanks.
