US787 CDG to CLT diverted due to TSA "Security Issue"

Breaking news on CNN

US Airways says jet from Paris to Charlotte, N.C., diverted to Bangor, Maine, because of unspecified "security issue."

"Suspicious Passenger" is the word they are using.

OK, place your bets. Odds of "real" Jihadist or other terrorist? 1%

Odds of crazy person? 50%

Odds of drunk person? 25%

Odds of mis-identified not-really-dangerous person: 24%

Can anyone add anything helpful here?
I am supposed to be on the flight from CLT to CDG tomorrow. I take this route every month.
Does anyone know if this was a PHL crew or a CLT crew?
Watching CNN now.
Anything would be helpful.
thanks.

No news. But they'll likely continue to update this link.

Cut and pasted from CNN.com

"US Airways Flight 787 has landed safely in Bangor," the Transportation Security Administration said in a statement. "TSA is aware of reports of a passenger who exhibited suspicious behavior during flight. Out of an abundance of caution the flight was diverted to BGR where it was met by law enforcement."

It's a shame that we can not harness the abundant caution that seems to be self regenerating. If we could hook it up to a turbine we'd have unlimited free power.

The continuation of flight 787 from BGR to CLT has been scheduled for a 13:13 EST departure. Hmm....

A U.S. official says the initial reports said a female passenger appeared to be mentally unstable.

I don't think this was security related, sounds like it was just an accommodation stop. From the US Airways website:

The flight has been diverted to Bangor to accommodate customers from a cancelled flight. The flight from Bangor will continue to Charlotte at 01:00 PM and arrive at 03:27 PM.

I was going to follow up on IAHPHX theme of laying odds, with the phrase "abundance of caution" getting 99% odds of happening. TSA beat me to it before I had a chance to post it.

Seems that the 50% portion of this prediction is our winner.

I know my security odds.

BTW. if it was just a "mentally unstable" person, why do you have to evacuate the whole plane? Security theatre at work?
