Trying to leave Boston 4/18

Trying to get a flight out of Boston to Charlotte or Philadelphia this Saturday 4/18 but all direct flights on US showing as sold out for the whole day. Is this usual for a Saturday, a system glitch or just a mass exodus?
Edit: Just found out it's Patriot's Day on Monday 4/20 so I guess people heading away for the long weekend.

All of the non stop BOS-CLT flights are zeroed out for April 18, but there is one F seat on the 5:30 pm BOS-PHL flight.

More than just Patriot's Day... the entire Boston area schools are on vacation for spring break 4/20 - 4/25.

And just to pile on, the Boston Marathon is held on Patriot's Day. Is driving to Providence (PVD) or Manchester NH (MHT) an option? Might give more options.

Thanks for the local knowledge. Hadn't thought about the PVD or MHT options phlwookie but unfortunately no sensible fares for the Saturday morning or Friday afternoon from there either so decided to enjoy the weekend in Boston instead. Looks like lots going on so should be good.

We're all trying to escape before the marathon takes over the city.
