Food in F on E-190 FLL-DCA?

Hey All,

Flying an early-morning (7AM) FLL-DCA this weekend on an E-190. Scored the upgrade to F, now just need to figure out if I am on my own for breakfast or what food I can plan on getting onboard. Anyone taken this flight/route and can comment on the food offerings?

Thanks!

Not sure if its treated as a premium market, but it won't be hot food as the E-190 does not have an oven. Ive taken several lengthy 190 flights (PHL-IAH and reverse as well as other routings) and, at least, during lunch they would serve a cold meal entree - usually an entree salad with roast beef or chicken, a side dish and dessert. My last IAH-PHL meal was IMHO better than the hot meal I recently had from PHL to LAX.

As to breakfast, assuming there is a meal, expect a cereal type option or yogurt - both with fruit and some packaged pastry

I have only gotten the breakfast basket with bananas. Nothing hot.

There is no meal service on this route, only the Lite Bites snack basket. At 899 miles, the flight is 1 mile short of the 900 mile threshold for tray service.

Is the Lite Bites snack basket essentially the same on US Express/AA Eagle flights (assuming this is a US Express flight)??

Lite Bites basket is "snack basket plus". The regular snacks plus hand fruit and pre-packaged sandwich options (e.g. Vending machine grade sandwiches)

No. There are no Lite Bites on Express, whereas Eagle serves a plated snack as catering has not been aligned between the two yet.

The E-190 is operated by mainline, not Express.

Great to hear! At 1 mile short of the threshold, it felt like a frustrating omission.
