Credit line
Anyone willing to share your awarded initial credit line. My reasons for adding a credit card go beyond just travel. Thanks!

you'd see reports of between 7500 and 50000 initial CL.

I closed this same card Jan 2014
Tried to apply in feb and march but got instant declined (no hard pulls)
Applied today and got approved 10k limit
Have zero barclay cards.
Have about 5 other cards open and 780 credit score.
Was worried because of moving to a new address just for a few months and in the application it asks how long at your current address ^
I am pretty much running out of options to churn for AA miles. Glad to get in on this for 89 fee.

I just got approved for a third card. Never closed the other two, the accounts were opened in late 2011 and early 2013. It was an instant approval.

I've had the card since May 2014. Called and applied and got instant approval for a new card (with a bigger credit line to boot).
I'd like to cancel the card I already have opened, but does anyone know if that also cancels my companion certificate? Should I be safe and book that before I cancel the card?

Churning US Premier World MC
I got a US Air Premier World MC, paid my $89 annual fee, received my 40K bonus miles, and canceled the card in August.
Now US Air is offering 50K miles with an $89 annual fee.
If I reapply could I get another 50K? The rep says yes, but I don't know whether that is credible since I just canceled 4 months ago.
Thanks in advance.

I just got a second card while my first is still active - so I'd say yes, definitely possible to get another 50k.

They practically encourage churning if you call in and ask about it.
It's like a churner's Christmas miracle.

Been SM Barclays to match the 50K offer, just got the 40K offer in LATE Oct. Keep getting reasons why they can't match. Last reason was the 11/1 new account reason. Going to try a phone call next.

Why yet another thread about it?
There's already:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/us-ai...new-offer.html in this forum
and even more signicantly (in terms of more datapoints and more information):
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...ot-waived.html in the Creidt Cards forum
and the answer is already in there.
Which is that some people can get another US airways card while still having a previous one open (those who get "instantly approved" by a computer), and other people can't (those whose application is processed by a human). YMMV, and it's hard to know ahead of time which one you'll be.
In the latter thread (the one in the Credit Cards forum), someone just explained today the complex many-call procedure whereby they were approved only after calling to cancel their previous card and then making two more calls after that!

I received both of the previous two card promos (the 40K one and the 25K one). I canceled both of them around August....have no US Air card now.
Would that likely make me eligible for the 50K promo now?
I suppose it's worth a shot....though I would hate to get charged $89 and not get the promo.
