I think this policy is now solidly 900 and 2:30 with whatever exceptions, but I did have a PHX to OMA flight attendant express disappointment for having to serve a meal recently.

Closing the loop here - On last night's IAH-CLT US1749 the options were Chicken (Masala-ish sauce) and Pasta (artichoke ravioli). Wife liked the ravioli ok, chicken was edible. Not bad for what ended up being a sub 2 hour flight.
