Is this true? No Int awards over 100K

I was just tring to book an award ticket from MEL to LHR (connects in BKK) and it was 120K miles. I was then told by an agent that US does not allow anymore bookings over 100K.

Can this be true?

Can someone kindly shed some light on it.

Thank you

does this really make sense when practically every F award outside of something between two domestic points is over 100k?

In this case your 120K award should only cost 100K then.

As others have already said, you got a dolt of a rep. Call back and talk with someone who knows what they're talking about.

Yes

Yes, that is what surprised me the most - the agent was at CP desk.

She even said, you can book it but ticketing will not issue the ticket.

I am wondering has anyone out there been able to get a single award ticket issued when it is over 100 K.

Thanks

Perhaps all award tickets will now cost 4 miles!

the simple answer to your question is yes - hundreds of them. F and J class redemptions are frequently in the 100/110/120/140/150/160 range. RTWs (5 stops) are much more than that.

If that happens again, just make the booking and ask the rep if they could be so kind as to try it with the rate desk and ticketing. (s)he may be surprised with the result!!

This takes the cake with regards to agents cooking up rules.
