United may let you in if you know your US Club membership number (different than your DM number) that they can enter into the computer. If you call club services they can probably give it to you...

Nope, not any longer. They need to see the expiration date. They will, however, take your receipt as proof of membership, if your card has not arrived yet.

I followed up my purchase with a phone call explaining I had a trip on March 1 from PHL-FRA-IST and would like to have the plastic in hand. Very helpful agent said she would expedite with vendor and so forth. I kind of gave up until it arrived Express Fed. Ex. the night before my trip. Quite impressed to say the least....

They seem to regularly offer 1000 PQMs. Every once and a while you will see 3k or 5k. I'd wait if you can.
