That's a genius idea: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/2011-...ns-2012-a.html.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news.... but no GS 12 in the works. The person I spoke with mentioned there were no plans for another GS until 2013. I hope US changes their mind.

That's terrible news. What insane-to-the-casual-observer-but-economically-rational set of activities will I fill my time with this fall?

Worst rumor ever! I hope that is wrong, but 13 would be better than never I guess.

I really hope it is wrong too, and be it not coming straight from US but one of their closest partners... I hope just some miscommunication.

I just recently became a member business of the US Business Perks program,
https://www.usairwaysbusinessperks.com/placestoearn/ and wanted to know if we would be included as "hits" in the GS promo. This was the response to my question...

"I also checked into the Grand Slam promotion. Unfortunately there are no plans to run the event again until 2013."

So take it for what it is. I am not sure I was to even let that slip out, if there is more info, feel free to send me a PM.

Btw, I ask that we keep this here in the community, before blogging all about it and taking it up the US Airways ladder. Would not want my person to get in trouble.

If true, it might make sense, as the merger with American, if it occurs, might be a game-changer if One World is the surviving alliance.

Possibly but suspect they'll be lucky to get that done by 2013.

I wonder if they will post a formal statement next month since thats when they usually make the preliminary announcement. I have to say i have spent quite a bit of time in the last several months getting everything topped off for future hits...
