I hadn't seen this before, but I'm not always the first to see things, but it appears it now costs $100 for a second bag to/from Asia, apparently effective with flights on June 1 and after.

As mentioned in the other thread, SQ has no such fee

Even better, a ticket on SQ gives no revenue to COdbaUA.

Book away my friends. Book away.

I used this calculator after logging in. All my upcoming flights came up. All looked good, except:

My USAIR Flight from DCA to BOS. This is what it shows:

Itinerary confirmation: xxxxxx
1st bag___2nd bag___Weight per bag
$25______$35______50.0 lbs (23 kgs)

I'm a 1K. All my other flights show bag fees of $0 .

What DO I get on USAIR? I'm thinking I should get 3 bags free, with a limit of 50lbs each. Correct?

That's what US Airways says:

So if you are with *G status, only NH flights will be affected with 23kg x 2 rule in lieu of 23(32)kg x 3 for other JV airlines?
I think LH group still allow 23kgx3 for economy flight flown by *G members and United is 32kg x 3 for its 1p+ members.

If you have lots of luggages, there will be really no incentive to fly NH. One must becareful not to book NH flight for codeshare as well.

LH only allows 2 bags for Gold on USA--Asia, or at least that is the rule for travel to India.

SQ allows 3 bags on US to Asia for Gold.
