It's also noted under flight amenities, which you can check up to 3 days in advance** on united.com.

**There's a trick to look out much further on the mobile site, but I wouldn't trust that data so far out.

I don't normally trust the amenities until the day of and not 3 days out because of plane changes and such. Have had it happen too often to rely even 3 days out.

with only a handful of non-PS flights with wifi (and all domestic choices are A3xx for now), the odds are very low. It will a number of months before the odds improve much.

But as others have posted, the amenities section of flight status will provide the info.

I did hit am A319 flight with wifi recently. Used the free access to united.com to check on flight delays. ^

Look under the Inflight Entertainment section. For example, I'm on EWR-SNA UA 283 on Tuesday morning, and it shows -

Inflight Entertainment:
Wi-Fi access is available for purchase on this flight. Overhead video and audio programming are available. Or listen to live cockpit communications with air traffic control on Channel 9, a feature that's unique to United.

Unfortunately, there's no power, so the Wi-Fi will only last as long as my laptop battery holds out.

Good reason to buy a Mac, and your wifi should last throughout most flights, especially domestic US flights.

Hopefully the WIFI lasts...I tried it on the last flight on an Airbus 319...it worked for 5 minutes and went off for the last of the flight. The FA's tried to get it back, but they were unable to bring it back. So, now I'm trying for a refund.

What Planes Have WIFI?

Got onto one of the a319s that was supposed to have wifi last week. On the outside of the plane there is a wifi equipped decal--someone scratched a big "no" over the wifi and as you can imagine, the wifi didn't work on the flight

First time on a UA plane with WiFi (UA 284 EWR-SNA). Online now and listening to Channel 9.

Two options, $12.99 standard or $19.99 "accelerated." I decided to try the accelerated (sucker). It's fine for emails, but the Web pages (including this one) load very slowly. I'd hate to see what the standard is. Hasn't dropped the connection, but it took me 4 tries to get it to accept my credit card - kept getting message that there was a problem with my card. Tried a different one, same issue, so kept trying until it went through.

There was no annoucement made or literature on the plane. The only reason I knew this plane had it was from the Entertainment section of the Flight Status page. I don't recall if the plane had a sticker by the door.

I was on ship #4009 on Feb. 20 EWR-RSW and the wifi was not working. The satellite icon on the control screen in the front of the plane would not turn to green despite several attepmts by an attendant.
