Just got this email:

We hope you've been enjoying your benefits as a Premier® member. To recognize your loyalty, we've made it simple and easy to achieve Premier Silver status for 2013.

Go to united.com/2013status now through February 28, 2013, to purchase the Premier qualifying miles or segments you need to obtain Premier Silver status so you can continue to enjoy the benefits that make travel so rewarding.
Am dropping from 1K to GM on 2/1/13.

Me go for this? Not. A. Chance.

No option to purchase for me or the Mrs. Got an "invitation only" error message. Not that I would be doing it anyway...

Me: dropping from 1k to Gold (50,526 PQM)
Mrs: dropping from Gold to Silver (35,550 PQM)

Yeah, I'm about to fall from 1K to Silver, and I can buy up to Gold for the low, low price of $2149!

I guess UA won't be doing any soft landings this year.

Ugh. I guess I should hurry up and do those 47,000 miles I need to get MM status.

Gold to Platinum table

I was able to login to an account to view this Gold to Platinum table. Not needed though due to a Copa flight not posting until Jan 5th. No email about this offer from United yet, which is a good thing, and RPUs posted so we know Platinum was achieved.

2,000 PQM/2 PQS - $649
3,000 PQM/3 PQS - $849 *
4,000 PQM/4 PQS - $999
5,000 PQM/5 PQS - $1149
6,000 PQM/6 PQS - $1299
7,000 PQM/7 PQS - $1449
8,000 PQM/8 PQS - $1599
9,000 PQM/9 PQS - $1749
10,000 PQM/10 PQS - $1899
11,000 PQM/11 PQS - $2049
12,000 PQM/12 PQS - $2199
13,000 PQM/13 PQS - $2349
14,000 PQM/14 PQS - $2499

I need 15k PQM to reach Gold (was a gold previously, dropping to silver), and was offered to buy them for $2449.

Thanks, but no thanks. As much as I'll miss E+ at booking and club usage, that's not worth $2500 to me.

If you buy the PQM does that become existing PQM mileage for 2013?
