Yup. N26902 (in the air to LHR) was supposed to go to LAX and then LAX-IAH on 9:55 AM local tomorrow. Looks like N45905 (that was supposed to go to LHR) will get the honor instead. IAH-LAX flight scheduled for 6:15 AM local arriving at 7:19 AM local.

Do the Intl 787s have the pmCO catering/meal delivery, i.e. cheese cart?

I've been checking for award space on the IAH-LHR and LHR-IAH 787 flights and not seeing any, even at the last minute. I hope United will soon be as generous with that space as it is on other planes.

What makes you think it is related to the aircraft type rather than the route loads?

787 diverted to SEA

DEN -> NRT diverted to SEA.
At least it isn't immediately being attributed to battery issues. It will be interesting to see how much play this gets in the media.

United flilght 139 was enroute from Denver to Tokyo when there was an indication of a problem with an oil filter, United officials said.

UA 70 Swapped out?
Was on Flightaware.com checking on my upcoming flight to IAH from LAX on 6-20. Noticed that the flight was swapped out for a 764 this morning. Checked history on flightaware and its the first time this month the swap occured. Currently I"m in BF cabin. Anyone know why it was swapped out?
it appears to have been a last minute thing, as I have been following this for the last few days.
thanks

I read in Aviation Week that the "dispatch" rate for the 787 was no worse than other aircraft launches like the 777. However, I am not sure what that tracks? Just if the flight actually takes off? Does it include diversions, huge delays for mech? It seems it has been pretty unreliable, even after the restart (which did have a lot of changes, not just the batteries).
Also reported in Aviation Week there is another big outstanding problem related to the cool down of the APU between flights. Short turns cause serious problems that can cause permanent damage to the APU... More of an issue in Japan where they are used for short turns. There is a workaround but is a very complicated procedure it seems.

I can't believe it. I actually called today to have my r/t NRT in a few days changed BACK to the 787 via DEN now that everything looked good. I was on hold for too long and hung up...
Man, am I glad! I htink I'll stick with the old 772 from LAX for now.

From the description of the issue, it sounds completely coincidental (engine seal issue). This could easily happen on a 772, maybe even more likely due to the age and average time elapsed since last maintenance check.
