Is anyone else tired of the cookies in F?
I've been offered endless cookies for dessert on UA since I started flying them again in May. I declined on them all. In fact, it seems they have few takers of cookies anymore. The FA's usually return to the galley with almost a full basket of cookies. The cookie has become the standard dessert offering after lunch. However, my heart sank yesterday during the UA "dinner" flight from IAH to PDX when I was offered a cookie after the meal. Since when has a cookie been considered an appropriate dessert for a "dinner" flight?
The cookie idea is very dated. I had my first airline cookies on Midwest Airlines. But I can't think of anything better to replace it. The ice cream sundae production is better suited for long-hauls whereas cookies generally appear on short and mid flights. Although IAH-PDX should have the sundaes on a dinner flight.

Yeah I was shocked that the dessert offered on the IAH-PDX dinner flight was a cookie. It's a four hour flight. I would have expected a sundae. I wonder if these are new catering guidelines?

You know, "shocked" is the word I use to describe the feeling experienced when I receive a phone call telling me that a close friend or relative has unexpectedly passed away. I can't even imagine being "shocked" over the offering of a cookie.
The fresh baked cookies are actually one of the things I most look forward to about flying in business class (or first class in the US when it's called that). But I'm confused, you're saying the cookies were the dessert? Usually there's an actual full dessert with the meal and the cookies are later as a snack, no?

No. Cookies were the dessert after dinner. Nothing else.

Cookies are a sweet snack, not a dessert. Bring back the cheese cake after dinner on long flights. I don't like the grease on my fingers after eating one of these cookies. I agree they smell good thought.

Growing up we never had desserts, even at restaurants. So an Oreo or two was about it. Cheesecake or sundaes were always just for special occasions, flying in F, aside from a long haul flight, is nothing special. If they are going to do something better than a cookie, then the meal services need to get bumped up a few levels. A
