Received my first CPU, can I change my seat?

I was surprised to see this morning that I have been upgraded 24 hours before my IAD-MEX trip tomorrow. This is my first CPU since being Premier Gold. How does it work? Is that confirmed now and is there a way I can change the seat assignment at this point?

Thanks in advance and Happy holidays to everyone

Sure, go to my reservations, select your flight and click change seats, and if the cabin isn't full, you can select your seat.

You'll probably have to go to OLCI and change your seat, even if you can't finish the checkin process due to passport needing to be scanned, etc.

Yes, that is exactly what the system is telling me. Problem is that the first segment FRA-IAD is on Lufthansa metal and ua.com won't let me do the checkin. Will it help to call the hotline?

Yes, phone agents should be able to change the seats for you.

Hm, if segment is 24 hours before, theoretically you should be able to change seats. Of course .bomb may be treating it like it is looking at checkin for the LH flight ...

Wonder if LH wil let you do online checkin - UA has NEVER let me checkin for a flight that originates outside US

If the flight is tomorrow, you should still be able to change seats by going into the reservation (not OLCI).

Not if this is the case:

Congrats!

Yep.. Just a 1st class booking now! Any available seat is yours.. You will need to re-check in / print boarding passes to change seats..

I actually find it easier and quicker to change seats on t-24hours on the iPhone app..

Yes - I've had to go through back through OLCI to change seats - I often do this 5-10 times as better seats become available inside 24 hrs. It's possible that you can change seats through the reservations page inside 24 hours if you're not checked in; I haven't tried that.
