Any idea why they have a weather advisory for IAH today. Forecast is partly cloudy.
The reason I was asking I am flying FLL-iAH-CLE this afternoon. I was checking The WTC on my I phone and for CLE they have a winter storm warning for tomorrow. Says 8-12 inches of snow. The weather is fine today and for an airport with over 200 flights and lots of small planes it's going to be a mess. If that much snow comes that might even close the airport. Why not warn people with an advisory and give the people an opportunity to fly today or reschedule latter in the week.

Probably because it is Christmas and New Years and everything is sold out or oversold.

Hopkins (CLE) rarely closes because of snow. More likely the airlines proactively cancel flights, etc. I'm flying back to CLE from Virgina via ORD tomorrow morning and was hoping there was a waiver so I could fly back tonight. Although in looking there are very few options tonight with the much reduced Christmas schedule.
Same system, different reason. DFW is getting freezing rain. IAH is in the bullseye for predicted severe weather. Where I live we are currently getting freezing rain and bone rustling thunderstorms so this system is a doozy.
Wirelessly posted (BB Curve: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_3; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.16 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/533.16)
Actually packed a wallop when one of the cells rolled through part of Houston. Winds so strong the rain came down sideways and power has been knocked out (glad wireless services still up).
Sorry but I checked TWC and showed partly cloudy all day so that is why I was asking. They now have issued the advisory for the Midwest east coast which includes CLE and EWR.
I was asking about IAH because was suppose to make a connection there.
