Not on upgrade list at all
I'm a bit confused.
Flew from PIT to TPA via Dulles. Neither my wife or I were on the upgrade list coming or going (I'm gold, she's platinum). I am usually at least on the bottom of the list on the screen at the airport lol
I didn't see our name at all on the United app or online either. Mentioned this on Twitter just in passing and United called me to explain that they have changed they way they do things and unless there is a 100% chance I'm getting upgraded I won't even be on the list at the airport ( on the screen)
So those 30 people that were on the list at Dulles going to TPA all had a 100% chance of being upgraded? I'm really confused.
Can anyone explain maybe what the United rep that called me was trying to say??

All I can possibly think of is that the agent was trying to say "we tried adding you to the list, and you showed up as #31 out of 31, so then we removed you again".
The advice you were given, as you've explained it, was totally wrong.

Yeah what she was saying was really odd. It could have been that she called at 730 this morning and i just woke up lol.
Why would they remove me if I was 31/31. Should I just be last on the list?

This has happened to me twice.
First time, inexplicably i *was* on the list, but not showing up on the monitor. Was explained as bug in system - upgrades were done by "real" list so I got it.
More recently, we were not on the upgrade list, 1K line agent phoned someone and said the system was malfunctioning but they would be able to fix upgrade list at the gate. GA had absolutely no clue why we wouldn't be on the upgrade list and didn't seem to care much...
