The airline also added to the responsibilities of Jeff Foland, who had previously overseen its technology. He's now executive vice president for marketing, technology, and strategy. Foland worked for United before the merger.
Programs: Formerly over-entitled UA 1K, now under-entitled UA PP.

Combine this with the fact that much of the board seems to be from Continental, the officers are from Continental, and his executive management team is Continental: His control appears to be absolute.

All we need now is a voice saying, 'I am your faaaaather.'
Come back, Glenn! Dig the airline out of the grave that Jeff has dug for it.
He doesn't seem to have done much to stop the goings-on this year, so his replacement with Smeagol as Chairman probably won't make much difference.
However, what is concerning is that this shows that, rather than putting him on notice for this year's performance, the Board is signalling that they love his work. Suggests to me that nothing will change significantly for the better in 2013 either.
