This is quite the hack review - note that UA paid for his ticket. I seriously question the writer's claim that he's flown many different C class products if he thinks the food on UA is great.
Also, I wonder how he managed to get the Asian meal? On every TPAC flight I've taken they only board a few of those and the GSes claim them all.
Funny that he mentions he "can always pocket a few packages of Milano cookies for the road when visiting" the United Club...since that's been a hot topic around here lately! Ha!

Besides the all too easily praised review, am I the only one that found the writing style to be... poor? Maybe I am too tired but it read similar to something I would have written in college thirty minutes before it was due!

I certainly did not mistake this for something in the New York Review of Books.
Hmmm, how does one get the airlines to throw free premium class tickets at them? I dare say I could slap together a better article in about 15 minutes while at least halfways drunk and I would welcome the chance to fly up front without spending $ or miles.

I felt the same way upon reading it - was so disgusted that I didn't even bother to post about it here. It read like an advertisement written by UA's PR team. OK, everyone doesn't have to be as disappointed with this company as I am, but this article totally ignores well acknowledged problems and says nothing but good things.
I'm amused at the outrage here. Perhaps people are unfamiliar with this genre of article? It isn't intended to be a hard-hitting critique of an airline product, it is virtually free advertising for the airline who offers a free trip in return for a relatively (or completely) favourable article. There are dozens of these in travel oriented magazines, newspapers and business magazines such as this - almost every airline does them. If you spend a few seconds searching you'll find a vast number of these on the Internet, and the level of "love" you see in this article is tame compared with many of them.
Honestly, the only complaint I would have here is that it is a terribly badly written article.

Yes, and the "article" should have "Advertisement" above and below it.
