Upgrades clearing BEFORE window

I'm 1k flying Monday night OGG-LAX and got upgraded 120 hrs out. This is the second time on this route I've been CPUd before the window. More than half the seats (757) were available as it was the previous time. I was wondering if it was a fluke or if the others have been CPUd a full day before their windows?

Gee - I didn't KWIA...

Seriously I'm not the type of traveller UA would award GS to. That's for the people who generally travel on company-paid tickets.

There are a few other posts about this - I believe it happens on flights that depart after midnight Central time; the system starts processing CPUs one day earlier for these flights.

I've had it happen as a silver pre & post 3/3 Primarily on planes where there were non-revs in first AND still empty seats. IAH-LGA early morning sunday rings a bell.

Yes. It appears to be sloppy programming, not taking the local timezone into consideration.

Or intentional, to avoid additional complexity associated with handling a small minority of flights. Who knows - certainly not you or me

Not sloppy. Just taking the Alan Jackson / Jimmy Buffett attitude: It's n o'clock somewhere!

In my time zone, 96 hours out is 96 hours out.

I've been upgraded more than 24 hours out twice as a silver. Most recently my gf (who is a GM) and I were upgraded on a tcon redeye 47 hours out. Needless to say I was pretty happy about that.

I'm flying Sunday AM (DEC 2) LAX-ORD... just got a notice this AM (TH NOV 29) that I've been upgraded to First. I'm Plat, but will only qualify for Silver this coming year. That being said, does the 727 deplane 1L or 2L in ORD?

Assuming you mean 757. UA doesn't fly 727's anymore. You'll deplane 2L in ORD.

I've been upgraded before the appropriate window as both Silver and Gold. Usually on flights where all the elites get upgraded, or maybe 1 left on the list.
