ORD-LGA Morning Flights no Longer Mainline UA; UX Only

This is getting old. The 7, 8, 9, 10 and sometimes 11 AM flights are all express. Some random flights are sold out already. Especially Monday mornings.

This is an important route and I had too book a AA flight as no UA was sold out, even in First.

Please bring back at least another am mainline flight. At least on Mondays.

I'm sure they will, if it's profitable.

Interesting. I was looking to do an LGA-ORD flight for next week for a few days and didn't realize on the return flight that 7/8/9/10 AM flights were all express (i.e. no first class).

I guess it is more geared for the NY traveler who takes flights out in the Mon Morning and returns late Fri Evening . Maybe you can hope they switch those to mainlines when they need those UAX planes for when Colgan pulls out?

Interesting, I didn't realize they were the non-first class express flights...always assumed they would at least be the E170s which many report good things about...and they have a first class like the CR7s. The E170 is the only UA plane I've never flown, partly because they keep them away from the west coast routes for some reason.

I think all the flights have first. I didn't see any crj just E170. But the E170 from especially ORD are filling up quickly. All this does is drives business to AA, who is flying Mainline.

If you want to throw one or two express flights, great, but not 3 and 4 in a row.

Probably because this market is getting crowded with the DL shuttle and AA. UA has a history of abandoning NYC when the going gets tough, and keeps assuming that business travelers are OK with flying to EWR (bad assumption, UA).

Maybe people are actually realizing that DL Shuttle is better. I have switched all my ORDLGA business to DL. Free beer and wine plus food served in Y! I'd rather know I'm definitely getting at least that since it's virtually impossible to CPU upgrade ORDLGA on UA... especially with so many 319's.

Isn't quite a bit of DL's Shuttle on E195s?

It's all Shuttle America E175's. Business traffic to NYC is still LGA. Every flight between ord-lga are always full. Fares are low which I'm assuming is the problem, but UA should be proactive and the sold out Express flights or near sold out should be upgraded to 319's.

Free beer and wine and food on Shuttle America flight?? I didn't realize that.

I've been buying the B fare recently on this flight and I'm getting tired of the cold chicken pasta. But I have noticed that the wine did get better recently.

Unfortunate but not surprising - I'm on these flights a lot (coming from the other way) and they're among the few flights I'm on these days that don't have a ~98% load factor.

LGA pricing to ORD has long been a steal compared to EWR-ORD pricing on CO, so I bet they're trying to bring it into equlibrium a bit.

UA does, +/- a couple of minutes. More than 1 per hour at peak times.

Mid week flights or Monday Morning? I'm suprised. I've done 6 roundtrips lately and all have been packed. Even the 757 that I continue to book.

ORD-EWR is 750.00 roundtrip months in advance. ORD-LGA is between 250.00 and 500.00. Smaller airplanes means higher fares, I don't mind the express flights but the ord-lga 7-11am flights should not be express. Especially on Monday mornings..

I guess we will have to live with it. I did book AA, since I had a choice. Express or AA for the same price I chose AA.

Good point, I'm not always on the Mon AM/Thu PM consultant flights However, there have been a few this year I've been on that are 60-70% full, and IMO this is one route that counteracts all the "fully full" flights that take the airline to an 83% LF or whatever it's at now.
