Giving out PJ's will cause lines for the bathroom and will create safety hazards as folks crash against the sides while trying to put on their PJ's.
It will be hard to believe that UA will actually keep this service. I heard the FC/BC meals are being standardized to offer the same in both cabins... you can bet they did not upgrade the BC meals.

I agree the wines and "Champagne" are terrible on UA F

Who needs pjs when you don't wear anything to sleep in?
ROTFLMAO...

A friend of mine relayed a story of an acquaintance of hers, who got a bit soused on an LH flight (in F). She awoke sometime during the flight, with a duvet over her, and nothing else on. So forget the pjs!

I don't remember that at all. The 744 lavs are a bit deeper because of the curvature of the fuselage, but most of that extra space by the window is behind the toilet and not useable. The 330/340 lavs are normal sized, per my recollection. Perhaps the 380 or 748 have larger lavs.

Yes, the 4:1 ratio is nice on LH. But FWIW, Swiss only has 1 lav for 8 F pax. OTOH, CX has 2 for 6 pax on their 77Ws.

The food in CX requires that ratio.

Any trip reports with turndown service?

I'm hoping someone will report on the turndown service. I'll be flying F from SFO to FRA later this month and that would really be something to look forward to.

Nope!

A colleague flew IAD-GVA last night in Global First. The report that came back was:

"No turn down service was evident or offered. But it was quite comfortable."

So, there is one report.

Thumbs up Mattresses in Global First - Nice touch

Hey Folks,

I flew back from AMS-ORD today in GF: Great service - Much better than the outbound. For the first time on UA, they also "made up the beds" in FC upon request with a nice mattress. It is similar to the one on EK but not as nice as the one on SQ. Apparently, this started on Nov 1 though this service was not offered on my outbound on 11.1 ORD-AMS. The Purser asked me what I thought and I told her I thought that it actually made the seat much more sleepable (I feel the same about EK and SQ).

Is this just a pilot route for this service, or is this being rolled out across the entire fleet in GF?

Either way - It is a nice addition. I don't recall sleeping ex-EU in years and I slept like a baby today.

Did they make an announcement or let you know that if you would like the turn down service you needed to ask?

No - They left a card on the seat upon boarding explaining the new service. I should have taken a quick picture. Even though the service is 3 days old, my card was stained with red wine and looked a bit battered - LOL.

Lol @ 'already wine stained'...

Wife and I will be in GF in a few days and ill post a picture then if no one else has. I have to say I'm looking forward to the mattresses...I sleep fine on just the seat, but if they're even remotely like the ones that LH did in their old F - ill be a very happy camper.

Is there an announcement by United? (I only see a reference to another thread.)
