Dogs running around in the B16 lounge at ORD...
Ok.. feel free to merge (need to post live )
But some couple has not one but two (non service) dogs in the B lounge.. What the? Ok I am a card carrying dog lover, but these bloody things are barking! Some complain about screaming kids.. but this takes the case.. really /rant
Its easy, just find a bottom feeder who speciaizes in disabilty cases, and let him go to town on any number of disabilty excuses one can concoct, and voila, your dog can go anywhere. And you dont pay a fee until you collect

They may not do anything if you complain if the dog is on a leash, even if they are barking. I wasin a lounge recently with two screaming infants and complained to the staff at ORD and was told there was nothing they could do. A barking dog is hard to control as a screaming infant.
I like kids (2 of my own but teens now) and have two dogs, but if an infant or animal is being distruptive in a lounge, the parent/dog owner should have the courtesy to just go to concourse and if they don't, the dragon should ask them to leave until the situation is under control. It is not fair to a person who is paying for access to avoid the chaos of the terminal to have to listen to screaming kids or barking dogs.
I thought the B lounges were food service areas? Most health departments have strict rules about animals in food service areas, even if it isn't a full service restaurant. Plus leash laws can be enforced virtually anywhere.
I would have complained immediately to staff, and I'm fairly sure they would do something. Ridiculous to have to put up with this. And it's not the same as a screaming infant, which I think would be harder for the staff to deal with.

The title of the thread is dogs running around. Implies to me they are not on leashes. Complain to the staff for the people to get their dogs under control.

The title does, but the body does not mention anything about that, all it mentions is barking. You know as well as I do that people make titles of threads in much the same way theWeekly World News did, to attract people to view their post. It's as if people get a commission if they can get people to read their posts. The OP's actual complaint is about barking. Being from OZ, perhaps the OP is afraid they are dingos.

I'm going to make points on both sides of this issue:
1) Simply because the dog is not a german shepherd in a harness does not mean that the dog is not a service animal. Many smaller breeds are certified as service animals for those with psychological issues; they serve a different purpose, but fall under a similar classification.
2) If the dogs were, as the OP's title would suggest, unleashed and allowed to roam the club freely, the OP should absolutely have complained to the club agents. Even service animals have rules regarding their acceptance in public places and, as others have said, leash laws apply almost everywhere in public.

Hey I paid the same amount to be in the clubs as you or anyone else in there. While I do understand the pet situation, you are taking it across another line with the kids....unless you had the only two (now teenage) kids who never had a tantrum while traveling. And don't give me the "i respected the other patrons of the club enought to step outside"...then you are just bugging people out there. Kids have bad days, grow up and get over it, if you are that perfect, rich, powerful, important, etc, fly private

Can only go by what the title and body together say.
OP
Can you clear it up? were they running around unleashed or just barking?

Most but not all airports have rules saying that cabin pets must remain in the carrier while in the terminal. I assume that this would also apply in the lounge, so leash or not doesn't matter: the dogs should not have been roaming around the lounge.
