How close/far am I from premier/star gold?

I fly in US Airways domestic and chose to accrue my miles into united account since I will be flying internationally in United and already had silver status with united.
Below is the screenshot of my miles details. How many more segments or miles do I need in this calendar year to get to gold?
Is it the standard 60 seg/50K prem miles or something diff?

wondering about it cos the status progress bar is showing lot closer than the ~20K calendar year premier miles.

Can some one give some insight into this?

Thanks.

I would say that you are close to achieving Silver for the year, and the 50k point is the half-way point on the line...

I believe that my comment still is correct. You are moving to the silver, then the gold after.

Each notch on the line is 25K. When you get across the first notch, you've earned Premier Silver, or *S for the next year. When you get to the notch in the center, you will have flown 50K miles and earned Premier Gold and *G for the following year. Fill up the entire bar, you've flown over 100K and earned 1K status for the next year.

OP had 54K redeemable miles and 19K status miles this year. So less that 6,000 more status miles are required between now and then end of the year to earn/requalify for Silver until February 2014. The bar graph is consistent with the 19K status miles being somewhat short of Silver (25K status miles, the first mark on the bar).

I see where your confusion comes from: graph label text annotated is meant to denote the end of each milestone period (i.e., despite it was aligned on the left side).

Understandable - that is what they are hoping for! They could do well by better locating the levels (the text anyway)... But then they might not confuzzle people into thinking they had lucked out and moved up early!

the OP needs 41 segments to get GOLD.

60 is required.

OP will reach Gold before then. Note the OP's original note about flying international.

I agree--the bar chart is poorly labeled because from its appearance one would be Silver upon having any miles and gold upon reaching 25k, etc.
