Mileage Between Some City Pairs is Different After System Integration-Resolved by UA.

Just signed in to check on tomorrow's SFO/IAH itinerary and see that what used to be 1635 miles is now 1631, so a loss of 16 RDM per R/T.

Living in the Bay Area, about 2 miles from the Hayward fault, I sure hope UA doesn't know something the rest of us don't know about a pending Earth change, although that would be one h**l of a quake.

Anyone else seeing mileage changes, either up or down?

[Moderator Note: Per UA Insider post 397, UA has decided to follow its previous mileage allocations and differences will be credited retroactively: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18187986-post397.html

Hah. I just posted a similar thread on MP.

SEA-IAH is shorter 5 miles now as well. Instead of 1,874 as always shown on CO.com it's now 1,869. I wonder if the data UA used is what's driving this part of the website as well.

Think of the millions of people flying these routes. I wonder what the effect of shrinking 5 miles off every lane UA runs would equate to in savings for them annually

while we expected the changeover to be earthshaking...

it apparently is responsible for an overall shrinkage of the planet:
Munich is now 20 miles closer to Washington
London is now 14 miles closer to Washington

Every one of my seven booked itineraries (on PMUA) is shorter on each leg!

Has anyone found a route which is now longer?

PMCO used Denver Stapleon's location while PMUA used the new airport's location. I haven't checked yet to see which survived.

Since Denver is now closer to Washington, as well (5 miles)

BTW, all my mileages "shrinkages" are when compared to PMUA.

All of my booked reservations grew: DCA-DEN and DEN-ORD. I think I will net an extra 26 miles.

I think there was a thread a month or two ago about this... my search-fu is inadequate.

JFK unfortunately has gotten 9 miles closer to San Francisco: 2577 instead of the 2586 previously... As someone who maintained status by just a couple hundred miles, I know that every little bit counts.

Same for JFK-LAX. Now it shows 2466, and for years it's been 2475.

It will be interesting to see what gets credited for PM flights credited post-M. I flew IAH/SFO on Friday so will know in a couple of days.

San Francisco must have moved to the East while I wasn't looking. SFO-IAD is 9 miles shorter (2419 -> 2410), SFO-DEN is 4 miles shorter (967 -> 963) and SFO-ORD is 7 miles shorter (1846 -> 1839). This is gonna add up.
