[A]s of mid-April [2013], HNL-NRT is the only remaining "dedicated" non-IPTE route (SEA-NRT changed over to all-IPTE at this time). To be sure ... there are still swaps from IPTE to non-IPTE aircraft in rare instances, however in the past few weeks we have been averaging close to 100% "compliance" on IPTE routes.

Will this renovation ever finish? Let's hope there isn't a thread needed for 2013 for the love of God.[/url]
They've been doing at least two airframes a month for the past half year or more. That's a pretty good pace under the circumstances, and UA should be completed in 2012 at this pace.
Looks like N769UA might be hatching soon.... Flight aware is showing NRT-SEA on Jan 11 (actual flight may change, but activity with reg number generally means its about to crack).

On Jan 7, UA 903 from MUC to IAD switched from new to old and then back to new, all within a span of about 12 hours. Of course, by then I had lost my originally booked C seat and had been reassigned to the cramped four seat middle section. Fortunately, the load was sufficiently light that I had the entire row to myself.

N769UA is back from reconfiguration and overhaul in PEK: performing flight 890-11th ICN -- NRT, then will operate via SEA and DEN back to ORD. New nose number is 2469.
Current status, then, is 21 XQs in service; one more under way (N220UA);
7 XDs in service; one more under way (N776UA if my notes are correct).
There's one more XP-to-XQ to go: N221UA, then, for the ERs, the ten XI-to-XJ group. Five more XCs to transmogrify into XDs.

N772UA is currently not flying either. That makes 3 in the shop at the same time. No idea whether all are being converted at the same time though.

Bitterroot, do you think the XI to XJ will happen? I'm thinking with the new management team, they will add crew rest modules to those planes along with the pilot bunks to convert them to XQ. CO has previously been extremely consistent with minimizing their long haul sub-fleets to offer the greatest amount of flexibility on these planes.
We just flew ORD(747)-NRT-BKK-NRT-IAD and we had the new J class seats on 2 of the 3 flights. The old J seats are terrible! We really slept well on the new seats. NRT-BKK was switch from old to new.
Does anyone know when United is finally done with upgrading their 777 fleet?
Hi there, it's happened to me 3 times last year that my original confirmation and seat assignments showed the new configuration and United swapped the equipment to the old 777 on the day of travel. Very annoying if you get offered lie flat seats on BA or LH at pretty much the same price.
The current suitedreams.united.com site show 52% complete. Does anybody know when they expect to be done with it? Thanks!
