Uh-Oh: UA Award and Upgrade Availability Gone from EF?
Just went to check some flights and both the web and mobile versions of EF no longer have UA in the drop-down lists for Awards and Upgrades. Not good. Anyone know what is going on? Starnet has been down all day, but that wouldn't explain this in the least.
Hmm. I was able to run a saved query successfully (even found an award seat or two with it), but when I tried to change the dates, UA wasn't listed. I wonder what's going on.

Hello everyone. Yes unfortunately United award & upgrade information will be no longer available on ExpertFlyer.com. This morning we received a call from United asking us to remove the UA award and upgrade data. Since we believe it is important to maintain an amicable relationship with the airlines, we have complied with their request.
We were told by United that no other service or website outside of the United call center and United.com is authorized to have access to their award and upgrade information. We are perusing a formal arrangement with United to be able to show the award and upgrade information in the future, and should that happen, we will notify our subscribers.
However for now, United award and upgrade classes have been removed from our Award & Upgrade search tool. Any United Flight Alerts will no longer work as well. Any existing United award or upgrade saved queries may still continue to work until the search date becomes invalid, however new ones cannot be created.
To help to make our case with United, we have setup a special email address, testimonials@expertflyer.com Please send to this email address your stories about how having UA award and upgrade data on ExpertFlyer has helped you in the past, and the benefit you receive from being able to search the data on ExpertFlyer. We will forward these emails directly to our management contact at United.
As always, thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any other questions please email us at customercare@expertflyer.com

United did the same recently with seatcounter.
I can't help but think that this is all related to the issue of StarNet blocking and United's increasing displeasure with it's customers having access to more data than their own employees and therefore our ability to put the pieces together to understand how they're truly limiting awards and upgrades. If they take the info away from us, we're left to our own conclusions, but can no longer back it up with data. Major thumbs down.
