Talking Sir, Are You an Employee?

Why, why did I have to go to the SFO maintenance tour and get myself a bunch of UA toys.

Between the UNITED travel portfolio, the UA pins on my bag, and my nice pair of UA pens, in the elevator up to the NRT IFL last week, the NRT maitre d asked, "Sir, are you an employee?"

I replied "Why, do you have a secret lounge?" j/k

I told her I wasn't, just an 1K who travels on UA a lot.

Yea, I think I have a problem.

I get that a lot. Usually after chatting w/FAs for a while, the person sitting next to me asks that question. Had it on both IAH-DEN and DEN-SFO last week in fact.

I've had pilots ask me is I was a FA traveling non-rev in F. And it wasn't because I have UA pins all over the place because I don't.

You are four steps closer to becoming committed to the insane asylum. Well, make that five. You spend way too much time on this forum.

Probably a compliment that you're much better dressed than other F pax!

You should answer yes and say that you are auditing if employees are compliant with customer service rules and regulations.

They did not ask me that question when I had United pins, United hat, and holding United pens.

But that was when I was 6 years old.

OT, but there is a secret lounge area in the NRT IFL. There is a small room just to the left of IFL reception before you get to the actual lounge area. I saw a small group of people in there two weeks ago as I as passing by door as someone went in or out.

I hear the first step is admitting you are powerless over your addiction.

Quote of the day! I was asked this on my last MR by the FAs while we were chatting while delayed...after boarding, the purser was kind enough to bring me a bottle of wine (there were only 12 or so on the flights) ^

My daughter, completely without a clue on my part, replaced my cell ringtone with Rhapsody in Blue. did it just prior to a trip last week. first incoming call was in the SFO RCC. Imagine the response that got there...nevermind my feeling like an absolute idiot for not realizing that it was MY phone...

I'm surprised the pilots associated you with the flight attendants. Were you dressed matronly?
You certainly don't look matronly.

Sir, Are You an Employee?

SFO 1K said... I get that a lot. Usually after chatting w/FAs for a while.

Same here. Do I look like a non-rev? No. But I certainly can talk like one.
