Someone at catering must be hitting the bottle... (other airlines items)

Flying UA JFK-LAX in C this weekend, catering boarded Delta Airlines coffee mugs and Northwest Airlines wine glasses. Now I know they want to get the word out about their merger but this is a bit ridiculous.

The flight attendants were understandably embarrassed. The coffee mugs were non-descript (the Delta logo is on the underside of the mug - I only noticed it because the design wasn't the normal UA coffee mug.

I could somewhat understand the coffee mug oopsie, since the mugs are so rarely used on UA flights to begin with. The wine glasses were another story. They had the Northwest logo on them.

Last month we were treated to American Airlines plastic cups on an LAX-LAS flight on Ted. Good times.

It must be another cost-saving enhancement.

Yeah, stealing from other airlines is a great way to operate.

Can't say that I've ever taken a logo'd item from UA. I don't think I would have had a problem taking a NW or Delta item from a UA flight.

Still have some seats available.

Coupl'a months ago I had a G&T served in a chipped US glass with lipstick residue still on the rim. If I were religious I would have gone to the airport chapel immediately upon arriving at SFO and confessed everything from the past month, including sipping a Starbucks on the DC Metro, and taking too many Premier Snack Mixes from the RCC!

Gave an investment lecture to some FAs in the galley once.
I was talking through my hat, but they didn't know it (turns out
my advice was sound). Got off the plane with a bag full of minis
and a couple glasses.

Had a VARIG seatbelt buckle on my last UA flight -- FA's found it very amusing.

Wink UA and OS announced partnership in catering (not!).

This was on flight 339 DEN-SEA yesterday (1/24). The purser noticed that as well, and invited me to the galley to compare it with the actual UA wine glass (OS's glass is more skinny than UA's).
