Someone posted in the Mileage Run forum about a promotion to requalify for 1K in the first 3 months:

Does anyone here have any information on such a program?

I just called United... and they could not find the information.

In years past when requalification miles were late to post, I would 'drop' a level and would receive a letter with a similar offer: fly a certain number of miles on xxx types of fares (generally M or better, IIRC) over the next xxx days to 'requalify'...

Did you call MP or UA?

UA also does prepaid status "cards."

I think it is something like $10,000 for a travel card, much like a gift card, and along with the card comes instant 1K. I'm sure someone has a link to the website. They go on sale in February, IIRC.

I just spoke to MP service desk and I understand that the offer code for fast-track requalification (incl. 1K, I believe) is MPP557.

Hello:

I just spoke to MP service desk about fast-track challenges. The agent registered me for Offer MPP557, which grants, inter alia, Premier Executive status after 12,500 EQM or 15 EQS.

She said that when I receive my confirmation email, it would have all the offer details. But the T&C's are rather vague (see below).

Does anyone know any further details? Also, the T&C's talk about qualifying for 1K, but with how many EQMs or EQSs?

This certainly sounds VERY generous (not to say mad). OP, can you provide further details of your current UA status - does this only apply to new MP members or anyone?

It's for people who lost a given status level from last year.

When is status conferred? If you meet the requirements in the first half of the year do you get status through Feb 08? If in the last half of the year, does status apply through all of 08 or still until Feb 08?

Do you have call to register or can it be done online?

What is the registration deadline?

I have a lot of travel coming up and would like to time my registration if I qualify.

On the other hand, I'm thrilled.

I'm fairly sure the 1K challenge will be 25k EQMs within 90 days. The trick being that you would have had to have been a 1K in 06.

Looks like the T and Cs show that you'd get status thru February 2008; to be 1P after that, you'd still have to accumulate 50K EQMs or 60 EQS by the end of 2007:
