Questions/Discussion of UA Flights 854/855 [IAH-LIM]

Once UA begins flying this route it will use a domestically configured 763. Will UDU apply to this route?

No, because UDU doesn't apply to trans-continental flights.

Intercontinental, actually. You'll have to use a SWU or miles to upgrade this too as Peru is not in region 1. It's unfortunate in a way that UA is taking over the route.. flights on CO to south America using non business first equipment are eligible for UDU.

Although the differences will be short lived I'm sure.

No UDU sucks given the C fare is +/- $4,000 for a flight that is not much longer than transcontinental US.

And it's domestic F (unless they are reconfiguring the aircraft)

CO no longer offers UDU on flights to LIM, I think this new rule was implemented last year.

When does this flight begin? I somehow missed the announcement.

Flight time is 6:35, which isn't too bad.

Actually booked this for later this year. Not really happy about burning SWUs for a 6.5 hour flt. Still, beats sitting in Y.

Yep you're right, it's the only exception and that started 6/1/10.

IAH-LIM switched back apparently, but the details are vague.
