On .bomb "2010 elite credentials - watch your mail"
A search and 5 pages worth of digging produced nothing, but I am not the best searcher... However, I have been checking my itin page every day for upgrades. No I don't trust easy update.
On my S/O's My Itinerary page is:
2010 elite credentials - watch your mail Elite card expiring January 31, 2010? Qualify for the same level or higher by November 30, and your 2010 elite kit will arrive in December. Remaining 2010 elite kits will mail through January. Current card expiring January 31, 2011? If you've earned the same status level for 2010, continue to use this card.
I re-qualed for 1K in July I think, and she will make 1P before then. Will be nice to have elite kit in December.

Already got my 2010 1P card in the mail in an envelope proclaiming my 2009 Elite status. I guess they (correctly) figure I'm not likely to make 1K in the next 50 days or so.

If you hit elite status mid-year then the card always covers the current year plus the next year - because that's when your status ends. If you hit a higher status in the same year, you'll get another card valid for the same period.

This is very good news. I qualified for 1P status a few weeks ago, and was worried that I wouldn't get my new card before I fly to Europe in late December. I'll definitely need my *gold card as I go back and forth between four different airports in the EU.

I'm in a similar boat as you (need 1P card for mid-December international travel, will qualify by Monday), although I interpreted UA's message to mean that they're currently being proactive by sending me a new 2P card. God knows if I'll get my 1P card in time.

Got 1P over 6 weeks ago. No card yet. I'll be 1K by the end of the month. Wonder if I'll ever see a 1P card.
(Well, there's next year...)

Does anyone ever use their card? The only place I have is on a chicken machine. Otherwise they sit in a desk drawer.
Quite often, international "partners" ask for them to get into the lounge. Quite aggressively at Singapore, as I recall. Despite status being printed on boarding pass.

Yup, always carry mine. It's the rule for lounge acces -- must present card. No card, and the carrier can rightfully deny you.

LH will undoubtedly deny you lounge access without a physical card.

I always carry it both to swipe in Mr. Chicken and in case I come across a *G lounge. It's also the logical thing to hand to an agent if I have no BP in hand (I seldom bother to print out itineraries).
After I made 2P in July, the packet came about four weeks later. Last week I got my 2010 1P card after waiting five weeks.

My 1P card hasn't worked in ANY EasyChicken machine in about 10 different airports for about 4 years.
And now the RCC card isn't enough to get into RCC!
