"What's a CR1?"
This is what the person that answered the phone at the 1K desk asked me today. After I explained it to him, he seemed to have an idea what I was talking about.
Now, I'm wondering if I am using lingo that they don't understand, or if my expectations are just too high?

They usually call them "confirmed regionals" or "regionals"--though it could have been a newbie.

CR1 or SWU means zero to any phone line staffer.
Use the official terms THEY use.

As far as I know, CR-1 and SWU are unique to FlyerTalk.

and attitudes are universal - far from it. e500, CR-1, "swoo," these are not the
official names of the instruments, and there's no reason why anyone outside these
boards should have any idea what you're talking about. I did get some flak once
after suggesting here that one should say "five hundred milers" or something like
that instead of "e five hundreds," on the grounds that any agent who was other
than brain-dead would be able to figure out what one meant; granted (though
it is not clear that UA agents are necessarily other than brain-dead) this, but
CR-1 and "swoo" are pretty obscure.
