IFL vs. ANA First Lounge @ NRT

I will have a choice of these lounges in a future transit of NRT. Any feedback on the relative merits of each. What about IFL vs. other Star Allinace Lounges in HKG?

There's no comparison between NH F lounge vs. IFL.
NH F lounge offers better food, drinks and shower amenity.

For HKG lounge, TG lounge is better than IFL for the same reason.

NH F is so far one of the best lounges I've been to in terms of service. IFL is closer to UA flight gates but I usually go to the NH F. Enjoy!

Would I be successful in getting in the SQ F lounge in HKG?

The IFL was fairly quiet, elegant, close to UA's gates and had tasty nibbles (emphasis on nibbles) but fell noticeably short of LH or SQ's F lounges (been in FRA/SIN/MUC). I was feeling ill after the flight so didn't do any lounge hopping. But would suggest you try out NH's F lounge if you have time as it is apparently much superior.

If you have a *A F boarding pass, then sure. It isn't anything to write home about, though. In general, I prefer the TG lounge because I like their food better than what I find in the RCC/IFL.

Don't bother. As everyone else has also said, the TG lounge is better.

At NRT, the NH lounge is well worth the longer walk.

I know for HKG some will disagree...

I personally prefer UA IFL over TG Lounge.
- TG Lounge serves food from C side on the table (so no real benefit for F)
- No wine and no champagne in TG Lounge
- at LH departure times wide selection of German magazines at IFL (ok that is just a plus for german spaekers...)
- much better showers at IFL
- UA/LH staff used to be way more friendly then TG staff - YMMV

I agree with previous posters, that SQ lounge is no option -maybe for a short stay with departure gate near SKL... otherwise UA IFL

Agree, SQ F lounge in HKG is the worst *A lounge in HKG, SKL in HKG basically is the same no matter F or C, same food, no view, don't waste any time to go there unless someone has a flight on SQ, as it is much closer to the SQ gates.

I have always seen a red and white wine available in the TG HKG lounge (as recent as Jan 2009). No champagne, though.

As for NRT UA IFL vs NH F, the only plus I see to the IFL is that it's larger so may feel less congested. The NH F lounge has always been packed, IME. Also, the shower rooms at the UA facility are nicer than NH's, IMO.

Don't want to hijack (but I also don't want to start a new thread).

long the same general line, what are my lounge options in ICN (C class, not F)?

Thanks, Climmy

Not sure if it still the case, but back in December everyone was using the OZ lounge.

And yet it's still 10x better than the F food in the UA IFL.

I thought the OP's question was about NRT, in which case I'll take the dissenting view and say that the UA IFL is just as nice as the NH first lounge. Recently I used one on the way out to BKK and the other on the way back and found them comparable in terms of food, amenities (IFL does have showers), wine, and service. The only difference is no noodle bar in the IFL. Given the substantial schlep to the NH lounge from the UA gates, I'd go with the IFL.

I'd make a different recommendation if it were the RCC vs. the NH C lounge, by the way.

What would your different recommendation be? I'll be flying UA C for my first time (always been in F) thru NRT in a couple of weeks. Besides the RCC below the UA IFL what other options will I have?
