Does anyone know what happened to the Chicago - Maui nonstop - which had continuing service from Maui (no chane of plane) to Kona (Big Island)?
Mahalo - I assume it has been cut, along with UA managmenent brain cells?

The Economy happened. Hawaii travel is significantly off after Labor Day this year, so I assume UA cut it. Remember, there were a few years a while back that they did not run ORD-OGG direct service at all.

Looking at the UA timetable, flight 1003 which does ord-ogg-koa-ord still operates but only on weekends.

While it operates all year long, it doesn't operate every day during slower periods. This is not new. This flight is usually full and carries cargo. Yes, it looks like they renumbered it to 1003 for some odd reason.

I was looking to book this flight for Christmas of next year. Any idea if it is flying in 2009 or what days of the week? How best to find this

And still is, when you can get it. I flew 1003 ORD-OGG on 12/21 and did not get upgraded on a V fare using a CR1. FA told me there was also a GS that had requested an upgrade and didn't get it. I usually do get the upgrade on this flight so I can't complain, especially considering that it was one of the very few upgrades I didn't get in 08.
